Athletics post.

  • Athletics Reflection:
    • What was the most enjoyable part of athletics for you? Why?
1 week the most enjoyable part of athletics was doing the run up with the nerf (javelin)
because it's like a toy but your us something it as something important.
    • What are you really proud of? Why?
I am really proud of the disc throwing because I think that I beat my personal best.

The most challenging part was doing the triathlon because we had to do it two times and that was the most challenging thing I have ever done, because I'm kind a fast runner but I have to practice to keep my heart rate.

    • What was the most challenging part? Why?

    • Where to now? What are your goals for next time? Why do you want to focus on this?
    • My goals next time is to keep my heart rate steady so like jogging at the start and then sprinting at the finish line.

Book buddies term.

Description: this term in book buddies we have swapped partners. So my new partner is Houston. And our new book that were reading is called captain underpants, It's a humor book so I am actually enjoying the captain underpants. Me and Houston have already finished the first series of captain underpants, so me and Houston got another series of captain underpants called Captain Underpants and the terrifying return of tippy tinkletrousers. I haven't read it yet because I am extremely fouced on Harry Potter and the prisoner of azkaban. So me and Houston have decided to read up to chapter four.

Here's my slideshow.

Prep

Description: last Friday we have been doing prep in market day. So market day is a little bit like new world or countdown. So you can make a prototype or something made up. Like a slingshot for example. For prep you need to have a coach so for example, Nic if you really like music then you should probably be with him. So your coach is there if you need help.

Maths

Description: in maths we have been try to figure out our budget for market day and we have been trying to solve out our expected budget, so it's like when we have sold out we have to add up our money abd see if it was as we expected.

 Heres my slide.

Writing

Description: in Nics writing group we have been doing a poster of a useless objects, but convincing someone buy the useless object. So if I was doing a poster of a useless pen you have to try and convince someone to buy the useless item. So what we are focusing in Nic's writing group is what makes our reader hook into our story, and make our story successful as well.

Heres my poster.

Maths post 2016

Description: in the past few weeks we have been doing a rubric. So a rubic is like a step up. So for example if I was doing writing and I didn't have anything on my rubic then that's a HELP ME! State.
If I had a blank page but did something a the last minute the that a I'm started state. If I was really close to finishing but I run out of time on the last task. If I started to get on my rubric right away then i would have mission completed. Or if I showed my calculations correctly and show how does my thinking work out so the rubic makes sense, then that would be above.

Here's my photo/slide.

This is my first try.

This is my second try.

Feedback: You did good at getting close to the work
Feedforward: Next time you can take a better picture. Jake.

Evaluation: What I found easy was making sure that I had everything right. What I found hard was to get the right answers.

Excellence post 2016

Description: in the past few weeks we have been doing Panekiretanga. Panekiretanga means excellence in what every your doing. So for example if I was good at maths and I show excellence in that. It doesn't mean that's the only thing that I work on. I can show excellence in writing art and reading or discovery.

Here's the photo/video

Feedback: I like how you calling all about it.
Feedforward: Next time you should expect more about how you show excellence. Azahra h

Evaluation: what I found easy was explaining what is panekiretanga is. What I found hard was how to show another way of excellence.

Kapa Haka post 2016

Description: For Kapa Haka we have been practsing for a competition in the regent. My favorite song  in Kapa Haka was hall of fame, because it was telling a very positive note to everyone. What I'm most proud of is that every single song is almost to perfection because we always work hard on what we have to achieve.  What I found challenging was to try and and keep in rithyim, why I found it hard was because it all had to be in one pace if someone mucked up then everyone we muck up. I think that I should work on hall of fame when we go into like, be students part (only in Māori version) because it was kind of hard to keep up.

What I found easy was doing the task cards.

Writing post with Nic 2016

Description: in Nic's writing group we have been focusing on planing this term. So when I mean planing I mean the setting, ( the setting is where your character takes place) the orientation, ( the orientation is the mistake in the story) the resolution, ( is how are you going to a the problem) and the climax, ( its like will the good guys or the bad guys win, or they have an agreement to stop the war.) Ellys writing group are focusing on simple and complex sentences, Troys writing group are focusing on simple or complex words.

Feedback: I like the way that you showed what you have done
Feedforward: maybe you could make your drawings better to see like go above the drawings when you take a photo. Kiana

Evaluation: what I found easy was that I can easily described about what I did in Nic's writing group.
What I found hard was trying to think where would my setting take place.

SLC2 reflection.

Description: on Monday or Tuesday we had our student lead conference, a student lead conference is explaining what have you been doing at school, and showing your learning with your parents. Troy emailed some questions, that we have to answer, here's my answers.

1) How do you think you did on your SLC? What was the highlight?

I think I did okay with my student lead conference, what I could work on is being is getting organized.

2) What did you do differently to make your SLC stand out?

Instead of coping the words on my description I could talk about what was behind the learning.

3) How will you make your Home Led Conference in Term 3 be awesome? What things might you do to make awesome?

Maybe adding some music to a video so that its not just a plain video.

Kapa Haka portfolio sample.

Description: At 2:00 in the afternoon, every Monday we go and do Kapa Haka in the hall for practice, and after three or five weeks we finish doing our practice and go up on the regent stage and perform. Kapa Haka is a singing and Māori at the same time, my favorite song is Ko te pee to, that's the first song that we do in Kapa Haka.

But I can't remember the rest of the songs that we do but there's a video that has the songs. Every time we do Kapa Haka there's always the girls lines in the front and the boys line behind the girls.
`

Feedback: l love how you told as about what Kapa Haka is. Maya
Feedfoward:but maybe you could tell us more about what you do their.

1 question:What is the hardest part about Kapa H Evaluation:  The hardest part about Kapa Haka was that remembering the right words for the songs why I found it hard to remember the word for the songs is because I have to remember the boys lines. So its hard to remember the boys lines and the right words for the song and at the same time.

2 question: Why do you think others should join Kapa Haka?
Being in Kapa Haka you can learn the Moāri culture the singing and dancing, and facing your fears on the regent.

3 question: What are you most looking forward to about Pae Tamariki next week and why?

What I'm looking forward to Pae Tamariki is going to the regent and performing. Why I'm looking forward on the regent for is facing my fears of stage fright for Pae Tamariki.

And In the middle of the gap is a object, lets say a bean bag or a donut, when you pick it up, you throw it at your partner five times. But make it challenging, here's a video of me an my partner Maya throwing a donut, but we didn't do it challenging, because it would take a long time.

Here's my video:

Feedback: I like how you caught all of the throws and you didn't muck up. Houston
Feedfoward: Maybe you could make it more challenging. Houston.

Evaluation: Thanks Houston for the Feedfoward and I agree that I could make it more challenging. What I found hard was trying not to muck up, what I found easy was setting it up.
